A grievance process is designed to give employees and employers a fair and objective system to raise and review serious issues and complaints without biasness.

1. Fairness: The attitude of supervisors is important here.
2. Provisions should be clear and transparent. 3. Adequate publicity.
4. Pre defined procedural steps.

It prevents minor disagreements developing into more serious disputes . It helps to build an Organisational climate based on openness and trust.
How to avoid grievances
1. Communicate the need for staff to take on additional responsibilities and for tightening up of existing policies.
2. Introduce a culture where over-performance is recognised by line managers.
3. Ensure line managers are trained to identity grievances.
Resolving grievance sat the initial stage saves the Organisation from stress,losses and image of the organisation.
